RECOGNITION
IEM HIGHER EDUCATION COURSE RECOGNITION PROGRAMME
ALIGNING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE FIRMLY WITH INDUSTRY REQUIREMENTS
From its very earliest days, the Institute of Event Management has enjoyed the support, engagement and encouragement of professional educators in creating an organisation which reflects, challenges and champions excellence and life-long learning in event management.
The IEM’s ground-breaking recognition programme for higher education courses delivering event management disciplines developed directly from these pro-active roots. It serves to provide industry-authored benchmarks for what a ‘good’ course should deliver, and to provide independent and authoritative recognition of those higher education courses which meet those goals.
IEM Course Recognition aligns with HE institutions’ quinquennial review processes. Recognition is typically valid for a period of five years (unless the course is subject to significant change – ie 30 credits or more — at an earlier date).
