Delivered within Bristol Business School, UWE Bristol’s events management programmes attract students from the domestic and international market. Subject specialisms within the team include critical events studies, event tourism and placemaking, events volunteering, event marketing and the impact of apprenticeships. The team regularly engage in advisory and consultancy roles, and have a strong applied research focus on sustainability.
Clare Mackay, Programme Leader for MSc. Events Management, said, “We are well-placed to collaborate with the IEM in shaping the debate on future knowledge and skills needs in the events industry as well as continuing to contribute to the events body of knowledge through academic and applied research, consultancy and industry engagement. We will champion the Institute and be a force in the drive towards the professionalisation of events management for the benefit of business, education, communities and the environment”.
