As part of our commitment to supporting the industry, we ran a pilot Purpose Programme which was a big hit and is now part of our membership benefits package, so we are talking to those people who took part about how it was for them.

Q Why did you sign up to the programme?
A I am at a point in my career where I feel well established in my role, but that I’m not sure what the next step is. I wanted to sign up because I felt the programme would help me find out more about myself, both in a work and personal context, and would help me think about my future. This was particularly important to me as someone in events in a global pandemic; everything has changed in the last year.

Q Was it what you expected?
A I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started the programme. I wasn’t expecting for the programme to go as in-depth as it did. I learned a lot about myself and some of it was a surprise to me. I really valued the time it gave me to think about who I am as a person and how I can apply that to home and work, not just in my job.

Q What did you get out of the programme?
A First, it gave me the time to think about who I am, what drives me, and what is important to me. Then, it allowed me to reflect on how I can use that to go forward. Finally, it gave me the confidence to step up and make changes both at work and in my personal life.

Q What would you say to someone considering signing up to the programme?
A Regardless of what you want to get out of the programme, it will be valuable to you. Just join in and do so with an open mind, you’ll get more out of it than you ever thought!
